At least 17 people were injured in a Russian rocket attack in Kharkiv. “Two women are seriously injured,” Kharkiv region military governor Oleh Synjehubov said late yesterday.
Twelve other people were taken to hospital. Two repurposed S-300 anti-aircraft missiles landed in the center of the city with more than a million inhabitants.

Mayor Ihor Terekhov complained that the rockets hit a place where there was no military infrastructure but many residential buildings. Authorities also speak of damage to civil infrastructure.
Kharkiv is regularly bombarded with rockets by the Russian military. Despite the civilian casualties caused by constant bombing, the Russian Ministry of Defense always states that only military targets are attacked.
19 drones repelled
The Ukrainian army said 19 of 20 Iranian-designed Russian attack drones were repelled overnight. Two S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles were also fired from the Russian border region of Belgorod, near Kharkiv.
According to Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, the regions of Kherson, in the south, Dnipro, in the center, and Sumy, in the north, were attacked by the Russian army during the night, but “fortunately there were no casualties”.
