The actor was injured on September 3 during a motorcycling improvement course at the Linas-Montlhéry autodrom (Essonne). The Évry public prosecutor’s office opened an investigation into the causes of the injuries.

He made a sensational entry into the world of cinema in 1995 with the black-and-white film Hate, which he directed about the misery of the suburbs and police violence and which starred actor Vincent Cassel. This event film earned him a prize at Cannes.

As an actor, Mathieu Kassovitz – “Kasso” for short – has made dozens of films (A Very Discreet Hero by Jacques Audiard, Amen by Costa-Gavras, etc.). He played for Jean-Pierre Jeunet in “The Fabulous Fate of Amélie Poulain” and even tried his hand at Hollywood adventures (Gothika) in the 2000s.

After years of ups and downs, he returned to the lead role in 2015 thanks to director Eric Rochant, who gave him the role of Guillaume Debailly aka Malotru, a secret agent torn between his duty and the love of a woman. A subtle role in a series that was successful for five seasons and interrupted by geopolitical news.

In the cinema this Wednesday Mathieu Kassovitz will be showing Visions by Yann Gozlan together with actress Diane Kruger.
