Some players receive their financial reward after three years. Some don’t.

It honestly helps that he wasn’t selected in the first round. For players like Raiders defenseman Max Crosby, three full years of free action are one year away. The new regime in Las Vegas figured out what they had in Crosby and they did it.

Here’s a breakdown of his new contract, a four-year, $94 million extension.

1. Subscription bonus: $13 million.

2. Fully guaranteed base salary in 2022: $3.51 million.

3. 2023 Roster Bonus, Fully Guaranteed: $10.005 million.

4. 2023 base salary guaranteed against injury at signing and fully guaranteed in 2023: $7.505 million.

5. 2024 base salary guaranteed against injury at signing and fully guaranteed in 2023: $19.01 million.

6. Base salary in 2025: $21.038 million.

7. Base salary in 2026: $21.038 million

8. Active Squad Bonuses 2023-24: $272,000 per year ($16,000 per game).

9. Active Squad Bonuses 2025-26: $782,000 per year ($46,000 per game).

10. 2022 Workout Bonus: $372,000

11. 2023-2026 Training Bonuses: $100,000 per year.

12. Incentives: $200,000 per year depending on whether you make the All-Pro First Team.

The deal is valued at $23.5 million per annum in new money, with a total guarantee of $53 million. Of this amount, $26.515 million is fully guaranteed upon signing.

The new deal did not take into account the $234,471 Crosby would have received from his previous contract as part of a total base salary in old money of $4.22 million.

The total contract value is five years, $97.986 million, with an average payment of $19.59 million per year.
