Russian sources say Ukrainian forces are continuing larger-scale ground operations than usual with a battalion-sized light infantry group on the eastern bank of Kherson.

They also claim that Ukrainian forces have moved a limited number of armored vehicles to the eastern bank near Krynky, 30 km northeast of the city of Kherson.

Russian bloggers claim that more than 300 Ukrainians (a battalion’s strength) are operating on the eastern bank in the Krynky region, and continue to claim that Ukrainian forces maintain positions in the center of Krynky and surrounding areas.

They also claim that fighting continues near Krynky, as well as near Poyma (12 km east of the city of Kherson), Pishchanivka and Pidstepne.

The ISW clarifies that Ukrainian forces likely carried out initial company-sized attacks across the Dnipro River on the eastern (left) bank of the Kherson region in mid-October.

The concentration of battalion-sized Ukrainian forces on the eastern bank appears to indicate that Russian blockade efforts along the Dnieper have not prevented Ukrainian forces from moving additional personnel and equipment to positions on the eastern bank.

The ISW says it will not speculate on the prospects for continued Ukrainian activity on the eastern bank of the Kherson region.
