Inter Miami CF have a busy schedule planned for Lionel Messi's first full season with the team, and the Argentine will even have the opportunity to play a pre-season game against his training club, Newell's Old Boys.
It was the striker's time with his hometown club Rosario that enabled him to make his breakthrough on the international stage. Messi stood out for scoring no less than 234 goals in six years in the youth teams, which attracted the attention of FC Barcelona.
This year, the famous number 10 played a friendly against Newell's Old Boys on his birthday, June 24th. He wore the Argentina uniform along with several national team teammates and had fun scoring three goals in the 7-5 win.

Many even believe Messi could return to Newell's Old Boys for one final outing in 2025 when his contract with Inter Miami expires. Several media outlets reported on the rumors, including the Catalan publication El Nacional.
The match between the Major League Soccer team and the Primera Division team will take place on February 15 at the DRV PNK Stadium. During its preseason tour, Miami will also face Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr on February 1 in Saudi Arabia.
