Samsung Electronics Canada today introduced the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2, which will be available starting October 11th. The Galaxy SmartTag2 offers improved ergonomics and design compared to the Galaxy SmartTag range, offering new, more efficient ways than ever to keep track of what matters to you.

Intuitive features make finding lost items easier than ever[2]
The new mode [3]Lost on Galaxy SmartTag2 allows users to enter their contact information as well as a text message. Anyone who discovers an object equipped with a Galaxy SmartTag2 can then scan the device with their smartphone and view the owner’s message and contact details. This means that a Galaxy SmartTag2 attached to a pet’s collar is now a convenient way to ensure the pet owner’s phone number and message are saved[4] personalized are always accessible. Lost Mode works with any mobile device that uses an NFC reader and an internet browser.
The Galaxy SmartTag2 now has an improved compass view feature that improves the user experience by providing arrows that show the direction and distance of the Galaxy SmartTag2 from the user. This mode is available on every ultra-wideband compatible Galaxy smartphone, such as the Galaxy S23 Ultra[5].
Users can now launch the SmartThings Search app faster thanks to an upgrade that allows SmartTags to install a shortcut to the app on the user’s smartphone upon registration. Additionally, the app features a new full-screen map view and a new intuitive interface that makes the user experience even smoother.[6]. Finally, when you switch between Galaxy smartphones, the Galaxy SmartTags2 will automatically re-sync with your new Galaxy phone via your Samsung account[7].
Clear design with practical functions
The Galaxy SmartTag2’s new compact size and ring-shaped design are designed with ease of use in mind. The large metal buckle improves the durability of the product by using metal inside the ring and can carry accessories such as clips and key rings. This accessory can also be attached to bags and luggage.
The Galaxy SmartTag2 is manufactured with IP67 protection for greater durability[8] Dust and water resistance. It also features a new Pet Walk mode that allows users to record their walks with their four-legged friends.
Peace of mind, refurbished
Galaxy SmartTag2 retains many popular features from Galaxy SmartTag and Galaxy SmartTag+. Leveraging Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and UWB capabilities, it leverages SmartThings Find Augmented Reality (AR) technology to visually guide users to their item using the camera on their Samsung Galaxy smartphone. In addition, the Galaxy SmartTag2 works within a maximum Bluetooth range of 120 meters.
SmartThings Find allows users to choose when to share the location of their devices via their Galaxy SmartTag2 by turning Lost Mode on or off. Disabling Lost Mode will immediately hide the owner’s contact information and delete the message left by the owner on the Galaxy SmartTag2.
