“Mr. Beauchesne violated a governance rule of Investissement Québec and in our capacity as a state-owned company, management considered that he could no longer maintain his position. However, he did not take advantage of this, behave inappropriately or harassed other people and there were no consequences for customers. No severance was paid. We will not provide any further details about the situation,” Isabelle Fontaine, a spokeswoman for the institution, told the Journal on Thursday.
Jocelyn Beauchesne, a former executive at Desjardins, has been vice president of regional network at IQ since 2017.
The risk director is also leaving
IQ also announced on Wednesday the resignation of David Stréliski, who had held the position of senior director of integrated risk management since January. He reported directly to Mr. LeBlanc.
“After about ten months within the organization, we mutually agreed to terminate the employment relationship as it became apparent that Mr. Stréliski’s profile and the requirements of the position were not sufficiently aligned,” Ms. Fontaine said, without specifying. Whether the company would be paid severance pay to ex-employees.
Also note that IQ no longer has a vice president of risk management since the departure of Yves Bourque in February.
