According to a report, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has a “burner” account

Reynolds, who supported Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the Republican primary, is not the first anti-Trump heavy hitter to be caught with a burner after Mitt Romney's infamous “Pierre Delecto” account in 2019 Light came.

But the Reynolds revelation came just four days before voters are set to begin voting for both candidates, as well as former South Carolina governor and U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley.

A repost from the burner account, titled @Kimberl26890376 and using her name, which has since been suspended, showed a side-by-side photo of DeSantis with his family next to Trump at Mar-a-Lago with a group of young women.

“The contrast is stunning…” wrote the account's original poster, who has no known ties to Reynolds other than his profile, which says he is pro-DeSantis.

The New York Times reported that the “Kimberl” account belonged to the governor, and sources confirmed that she was behind it.

Another shared post accused Trump of having “no loyalty” to others, even though he demands it of himself.

“This is FEALTY. “That makes sense because these people want a king,” the post said.

Haley isn't spared from the burner account either, with a shared post from the DeSantis campaign calling her “the liberal Democrat actively running for Trump's vice presidential nomination.”

The account posted supportive messages to DeSantis such as “Undeniable winner!”, “Leader!” and “Has 100% kept promises made!!” on its own.

The account had only 259 followers before it was removed and contained no official reference to the governor, but did include a photo of Reynolds as its profile picture.

Reynolds has not yet publicly commented, confirmed or denied the existence of the account.

Reynolds endorsed DeSantis in November, and while she had harsh words for President Joe Biden, she made it clear she doesn't “think.” [Trump] can win.'

She firmly believes in DeSantis' electability, even though she trails by double digits in most pre-election polls then and now.

“I think he’s the candidate who can win,” she told the Des Moines Register.

“And not only do we need someone who can win, but we also need someone who has the ability and the determination to reverse the madness we are witnessing in this country.”

DeSantis views Reynolds' endorsement as a coup that he hopes will get him past Trump.

Trump's campaign, which had previously turned down an event hosted by Reynolds where she interviewed the candidates, was quick to criticize her after the endorsement.

“Kim Reynolds appears to have begun her retirement tour early as she clearly has no ambitions for higher office,” the Trump campaign said in an emailed statement.

“Earlier this year she promised her voters that she would remain neutral in the race, but she has completely backtracked on that promise. “Regardless, her support will make no difference in this race.”

Trump also used his Truth Social account to trick Reynolds.

“If Kim Reynolds of Iowa supports Ron DeSanctimonious, who is absolutely dying in the polls both in Iowa and nationally, that would be the end of her political career because MAGA would never support her again, just like MAGA would never support DeSanctimonious again. “again,” he wrote.

“However, the coming together of two extremely disloyal people is very nice to see. They can now remain faithful to each other because no one else wants them!!!'

In another Truth post, he wrote that Reynolds promised him he would remain neutral during the primaries.

“She wanted to campaign with everyone.” I told her that I should have remained “neutral” when she asked me to help her get elected and that I didn’t want or need her to campaign with me. I'm now more than 41 points ahead in Iowa!'

Iowa's governor typically remains neutral ahead of the caucuses that open the Republican nomination calendar in January.
