Iran: Activist Sepideh Gholian released after 4 years ANSA news agency

(ANSA) — ISTANBUL, MARCH 15 — Iranian activist Sepideh Gholian has been released from prison after about four years and seven months in prison. She announced it herself on Twitter by posting a video of herself screaming with joy in the street without the veil that is mandatory for women in the Islamic Republic. “This time I went out hoping to see freedom in Iran,” she wrote. The 28-year-old was arrested at a union protest in 2018 and after being released on bail she denounced torture and ill-treatment she suffered in prison. In 2019 she was arrested again. (HAND).
