Iran has equipped its navy with a domestically made cruise missile that has a range of hundreds of kilometers, Iranian state media said on Sunday.
The Talaeieh cruise missile is “completely intelligent” with a range of more than 620 miles (1,000 kilometers) and the ability to change targets after launch, Iranian Navy chief Admiral Shahram Irani said, according to state television.
Another cruise missile, the Nasi, has a range of 62 miles (100 kilometers) and can be installed on warships, Irani said.

Both cruise missiles arrived at a naval base near the Indian Ocean in the southern Iranian port city of Konarak, about 850 miles (1,400 kilometers) southeast of the capital Tehran.

The announcement came after the Pentagon said an Iranian drone appeared to hit a Liberian-flagged chemical tanker about 120 miles (200 kilometers) southwest of India's Veraval port in the Indian Ocean on Sunday.

The country claims to have an inventory of various types of missiles with ranges of up to 2,000 kilometers that could reach both Israel and US bases in the region.
