Tehran, January 7 (EFE). – Iranian judicial authorities announced this Sunday the arrest of all those involved in the suicide attack that killed 91 people in the city of Kerman last Wednesday and was claimed by the jihadist group Islamic State (IS). . ).
“In connection with the Kerman crime, 32 people have been arrested and are being interrogated,” said the prosecutor of the city where the attack took place, Mehdi Bakhshi, the official IRNA agency reported.
Bakhshi assured that the 32 detainees were “all those involved” in the double suicide attack near the grave of Qasem Soleimani, an Iranian general who led the Quds in Iraq until his death in 2020 in a United States airstrike -Troop of the Revolutionary Guards.
So far, Iranian authorities have reported the arrest of 11 people in connection with the attack and revealed that one of the suicide bombers was from Tajikistan, while the identity of the second has not yet been confirmed.
The Kerman prosecutor also stated that in recent days another “16 bombs were discovered in Kerman province,” “more powerful than those of the two suicide bombers on Wednesday.”
