This was announced by the commander of the Air Force of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi (Hamid Vahedi). The main reason for this is that Russia refuses to transfer the technology that would allow Iran to establish production of aircraft components on its territory.
Tehran plans to maintain Su-35 fighters for the next 30 years. At the same time, the Russian government does not want to pass on the information necessary for this.
Hamid Vahedi that the Russians intend to sell only 25 Su-35 fighters without full maintenance, support and armament. The planes were previously destined for the Egyptian Air Force, but the African country withdrew due to the threat of sanctions.
