A Tehran court sentenced a 48-year-old father to death for repeatedly raping his daughter. As the death sentence has already been confirmed by the Supreme Court, the execution is expected to take place soon, as reported on Saturday by the Khabar-Online news portal. The man allegedly raped his daughter, now 14 years old, several times between 2019 and 2023.
Nobody believed her
According to the report, neither the stepmother nor other relatives initially wanted to believe the girl’s information. He then secretly filmed the attacks. An uncle then notified the police.
In Iran, the death penalty is imposed, among other things, for murder, rape, armed robbery and serious drug trafficking. Death sentences and executions are particularly swift in cases of rape and child abuse. The Islamic country has been the target of international criticism for years due to its numerous executions.
