Protests continue in various Iranian cities and around the world over the death of Mahsa Amini, the young 22-year-old Kurdistan, who died after being arrested for improperly wearing the hijab and died under suspicious circumstances after being detained at a station by Iran’s Morality Police. Young people took to the streets to demand clarity and justice, while several women decided to “defy” Iran’s Sharia law and move through the country’s streets without a veil and burn it. In an almost suspicious coincidence, just today, after days of similar protests, Dr. Masoud Shirvania neurosurgeon, board member of the Society of Neurosurgery of Iran, said on Iranian TV channel Irib TV2 that Amini had to undergo brain surgery at the age of 8 to a Cancer.
And then he added: «Amini had no further problems in the brain area after the operation. This type of patient must then commit hormone treatments and Amini was treated for this problem under the supervision of an endocrinologist. And Professor Shirvani then specified: «From what I have learned, his health improved after the operation. I’m sorry about what happened ». And the specialist finally explained: “If such patients take the medication regularly, they usually have no side effects: they only have to check their hormone levels and take the prescribed medication. The brain tumor he had in the past may not be closely related to his death, however any hormonal problemsif connected to emphasize, could cause damage“.
The images released by the Iranian police
In the past few hours, the police commander Tehranthe general Hossein Rahimi, denied being a coward and denied that Amini was violently assaulted while in custody. At a press conference, the police chief said: “The accident was unfortunate for us and we hope it will never happen again.” The police did everything they could to keep Amini alive. Iranian police also released some footage from the CCTV cameras in the barracks showing Amini collapsing in the police station. With this video, the police deny allegations that the death of the 22-year-old was related to beatings by officers.
