Protests in Iran following the death of Mahsa Amini, now in their seventh week “They are the result of the conspiracies of the US, Britain, the Zionist regime and the rotten regime of Saudi Arabia”: said the commander of the Revolutionary Guards Hossein Salami.
“Mr. biden! We kicked you out of Iran and the region and we will bury your dream of protests in this country.”said Salami, quoted by Irna, adding: “Saudi Arabia and its affiliated media! Warning, we will come to you because you provoke our people and sow discord. Just imagine what could happen to you. because we will take your rest”.
Then Salami turned to the protesters and warned: “Don’t let the enemies fool you. Today must be the last day of the riots. Don’t come to the square. No one will let you rebel in this country.”
Iran, Mahsa Amini: chants and gunshots at night in Sanandaj
Mourners gathered in the city of Shiraz, in southern Iran, for the funeral of the victims of a deadly attack on a shrine that took place last Wednesday during a demonstration against the unrest following the death of Mahsa Amini. At least 15 people were killed in an attack claimed by the self-proclaimed group Islamic State at a large Shia Muslim shrine in the city on Wednesday, official media said. The shooting at Shah Cheragh’s mausoleum came on the same day as thousands of people across Iran paid their respects to Amini, 40 days after his death in police custody. Amini, 22, died September 16, three days after her arrest for poorly wearing the veil. During today’s funeral processions, crowds chanted slogans against the US, Israel and Britain for their alleged support of the protests. The crowd waved Shia symbols and marched through downtown Shiraz, followed by a vehicle carrying the coffins of the victims draped with the Iranian flag. During the demonstration, Pasdaran leader Hossein Salami accused “enemy” countries of fomenting the revolt and warned protesters that “the revolt must end today”.
