Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed to have “attacked and destroyed one of the main spy centers of the Zionist regime (Mossad) in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq” in the “ballistic missile” attack on Erbil in northern Iraq.
According to an IRGC statement, the target was “the center for developing espionage operations and planning terrorist actions in the region and especially in our beloved country. Offensive operations will continue until the last drop of blood.” “The martyrs will be avenged,” the note concludes.
According to authorities in the Iraqi Kurdistan Autonomous Region, at least “four civilians” were killed and six others were injured in the attack. The Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK), which rules in Erbil, also reports the deaths of civilians, including a real estate tycoon and members of his family.
Iraq condemns Iran's attacks as an “attack on its sovereignty”, while the Norway-based NGO “Hengaw” on -old baby, died and many other children were injured.
