Iraqi Resistance Vows to Declare War on US Troops

“The Islamic Resistance remains in its position of opposing the presence of US forces, and Muhamad al-Sudani’s government must implement the parliamentary resolution that voted to withdraw foreign troops from the country,” Muhamad al-Tamimi said , one of the commanders of the Iraqi People’s Mobilization Units (Al-Hashad Al-Shabi, in Arabic).

The high command warned that the government would declare war on the invaders if it failed to comply with the terms of expelling all US troops or attempted to evade the resolution.

Iraqi lawmakers approved a bill on January 5, 2020 that would end the presence of all US-led foreign forces in the country.

The proposal came two days after the assassination of Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani, the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, as well as Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Iraq’s No. 2 Al-Hashad Al-Shabi. approved, like several of his Iranian and Iraqi counterparts, under the direct orders of former President Donald Trump.
