Is the British hand behind some military operations in Ukraine? From the rescue of President Zelenskyy to the attacks on Russian ships and territories, very specific suspicions about the secret missions and British forces are beginning to spread among intelligence analysts. In particular, Repubblica explains today in an article signed by Gianluca Di Feo, we are beginning to suspect the Special Air Service (Sas), the impossible missionary department created in North Africa in 1941 to fight against Italy and Germany. And which is currently conducting counter-terrorism and hostage rescue functions, as well as special military operations.
The suspect
Her Majesty’s soldiers are acting under false names so as not to endanger her government. And today they could use contractors or mercenaries active alongside the Kyiv Armed Forces. Like American citizen Willy Joseph Cancel, who died on the Ukrainian front earlier this week. Their motto is “Who dares wins” (“Who dares wins”) and according to some, they were the ones who protected Zelensky from the murderous intentions of Moscow on the first night of the war. But, the newspaper explains, there are two other well-defined episodes that her hand could be behind. The first is the sinking of a Russian military ship, the Saratov, which was in Berdyansk port on March 24. At that time there was talk of rocket hits, but the story would have ended differently.
That means: diving invasion with placement of a magnetic mine on the ship’s side and subsequent escape without a trace. The second episode is the helicopter attack on two tank farms in Belgorod. On this occasion, Kyiv initially denied responsibility; then President Zelensky responded to a question about the paternity of the attack with a rather ambiguous phrase that sounded like a justification: “I’m sorry, but I’m not speaking of my orders as commander, leader of this state. There are things I only share with the armed forces when they speak to me».
Now, Repubblica explains, another truth is coming to light: the cameras have caught two MI-24 Hinds being supplied to both forces in the field. But the Hinds also use the new mercenaries: It happened on a mission in Sierra Leone and at that time the crew also consisted of former Sas. The idea is that it wouldn’t have been difficult for the British unit to hire a hit and miss couple. Finally, there are the Russians. The Ria Novosti agency recently announced an investigation by the Russian investigative committee into the war in Ukraine into the presence of 20 SAS members deployed to Lviv. The British government responded with a “No Comment”.
