Most businesses, such as restaurants and shops, close on Christmas Day. But what does this mean for shops that are normally closed on Sundays?
Because Christmas fell on a Sunday this year, December 26 is a federal holiday. That means all non-essential government offices are closed, including the courts and the stock exchange. Many government-provided services, such as garbage collection, are also down today. Most banks remain closed and do not plan to visit your local library. But should you even dare to go to the mailbox?
