Israel and Iran Helped Hamas: Here’s the Proof

Iran helped Hamas plan and organize the attack on Israel. Tehran agreed to the surprise action carried out on Saturday, October 7, at a meeting between Iranian regime envoys and members of Hamas last Monday, October 2, in Beirut, Lebanon. It is the reconstruction of the Wall Street Journal, based on information from leading members of Hamas and Hezbollah.

According to the newspaper, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps played an important role since August in working with Hamas in planning the major attack. The details of the operation were finalized last Monday in Beirut at the meeting mentioned by the Wall Street Journal.

The meeting in Beirut, who was sitting at the table

On one side of the table the “delegation” of the Revolutionary Guards, on the other side the members of four Iranian-backed organizations, including Hamas and Hezbollah. Tehran’s plan would go beyond Saturday’s attack and aim to create a pincer to crush Israel: Hezbollah and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine from the north, Hamas and Islamic Jihad from Gaza, according to Hamas and Hezbollah sources presented and confirmed information from an Iranian source.

The Wall Street Journal news describes the picture painted over the last 24 hours in more detail. Experts and analysts emphasized the scale and complexity of the attack, which also involved the extensive use of drones.

The help of Hamas and Tehran

Hamas spokesman Ghazi Hamad said in general terms that Iran had supported the organization in carrying out the surprise and unprecedented attack. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi assured Hamas political leader Ismaïl Haniyeh of “the Islamic Republic’s support for the resistance and the Palestinian people” and expressed “appreciation for what the Hamas mujahideen are doing,” according to Hamas.

Raisi accused the Israeli government and “its supporters” of “endangering the security of the region and must be held accountable.” According to local media, Raisi said that “the equation has changed and triggering a war by the Zionist entity will damage it.”

USA: “For now there is no evidence of Iranian involvement”

While Israel did not hesitate to accuse Iran of complicity and involvement in the first hours after the attack, the United States maintained a more cautious approach. “We have not yet seen any evidence that Iran directed or supported this particular attack. But there is certainly an established relationship between Tehran and Hamas,” US Secretary of State Antony Blinken told CNN. “There is no evidence of direct Iranian involvement. We hope that there is no involvement of Iran or Hezbollah and that they limit themselves from Lebanon to throwing a few grenades in solidarity with Hamas, but that the situation does not worsen in the future either north of Israel.” said Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on Rete 4 during the Stasera Italia weekend.
