Yesterday, January 3, the Israeli army announced the death of “number 2” of Hamas' political wing in Lebanon. Saleh alArouri was killed in an attack in a Shiite neighborhood of the capital Beirut, a place known for its ties to Iranianbacked terror groups.
AlArouri, cofounder of the AlQassam Brigades, Hamas' armed wing and the group's West Bank coordinator, had close ties to Iran. According to Portal, military sources blame Israel for the operation. Initial reports also suggest that other Iranian leaders were present and may have been hit.
The attack occurred in Danyeh, a suburb between central Beirut and the international airport. “An Israeli drone hit a Hamas office in AlMusharrafiya, near AlSharq Sweets,” the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) reported. In addition to AlArouri, three other victims were reported, although their identities were not revealed.
