Israel continued its airstrikes on the Gaza Strip and targets in southern Lebanon on Monday night. The Israeli military said on Monday that two Hezbollah cells attempting to fire anti-tank missiles and rockets at Israel had been destroyed. According to the army, one cell was located near the Israeli town of Mattat, about 13 kilometers southwest of Aitaroun, and the second was further north in the disputed Shebaa Farms area.
Lebanese state news agency NNA had previously reported an Israeli airstrike on the southern outskirts of Aitaroun in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah said one of its fighters was killed. It was unclear whether both sides were referring to the same incident.
