Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said the Navy’s elite commando unit Shayetet 13 and the army’s 401st Brigade searched Gaza City’s Rantisi Hospital, where children are treated, and found evidence found to be responsible for Hamas terrorists using the area as a hideout. According to Hagari, the IDF also has evidence that hostages were being held there.

“Below the hospital, in the basement, we found a Hamas command and control center, suicide vests, grenades, AK47 assault rifles, explosive devices, rocket launchers and other weapons, computers, money, etc.,” Hagari told a news conference, the website reported the Times of Israel.

“We also found signs that Hamas was holding hostages here… And that is being investigated,” he added.

“We also found evidence that Hamas terrorists were returning from attacks [no sul de Israel] on October 7, among other things, after they massacred Israelis in their homes,” he said. “Hamas is hiding in hospitals. Let’s show this to the world.”

Hagari says the IDF has been working over the past week to facilitate the safe evacuation of patients from Rantisi Hospital as well as other hospitals in northern Gaza.

“Israel helped hospital managers evacuate patients from Gaza to a safer hospital,” Hagari said, adding that the IDF was informed that “the last 18 patients at Rantisi Hospital were safely evacuated to another location.”

“That’s because our war is against Hamas, not against the people of Gaza. “Especially not against the sick, women or children,” he says. “Our war is against Hamas, which uses them as human shields,” he said.

In Rantisi’s basement, the images show a Hamas arsenal with grenades, bombs and rocketpropelled grenades. The video also shows a motorcycle in the basement that he says was used in the Oct. 7 massacre.

There is also evidence in the images that hostages were being held there, including an improvised bathroom and other infrastructure used to house kidnapped people. According to the IDF spokesman, the terrorists may have evacuated the hospital with the patients.

According to the IDF, other hospitals in Gaza are also used by Hamas and other terrorists. “The world should know this,” he says. “It is a war crime, a crime against humanity and a crime against international law,” Hagari said.

“We are trying to move Gazans to a safe area in the south and expose these hospitals as terrorist machines,” he said. “The world needs to know this. And the world must not forget these crimes against humanity committed against Israel.”

“We will free our Gaza hostages and liberate Gaza from Hamas for the good of the people of Israel, for the people of Gaza and for the world.”
