On Friday and Saturday, Israel bombed targets in the city of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip. Leaflets had already been dropped urging civilians to leave the town near the Egyptian border. Hamas-controlled authorities said there were 15 casualties following the airstrike.
