Four people were killed and at least two seriously injured in Beersheba, a city in southern Israel. It all happened in an openair mall. According to police, the attacker stabbed a woman at a gas station, then got into a car and rammed a cyclist before getting out and stabbing several people at the mall.
The attacker was confronted by an armed bus driver. The driver tried to persuade him to lower his gun, according to the Times of Israel, as shown by images from a video surveillance system. The man attacked the driver, who, along with a second armed Israeli civilian, shot him several times.
Israeli first responders reported that the knife man died from gunshot wounds. Hamas and Islamic Jihad praised the attack in Beersheba, Israel, which left four Israelis dead, calling it a “heroic” operation. According to Palestinian media, the knife man is 34 years old and his name was Mohammad Ghaleb Abu alQi’an, who has been found guilty in the past terrorism.
