Israel x Hamas: a week of war in pictures G1

On Saturday (7), Hamas launched a series of terrorist attacks against Israel, after which Hamas immediately began the counteroffensive. The result of seven days of conflict: 3,500 dead, 2,200 Palestinians and 1,300 Israelis. And no plans for a ceasefire. On both sides only cruelty, pain, despair, indignation…

Below are some of the most striking images of the war.

An electronic music festival held in Israel near Re’im was one of the places where Hamas claimed the most victims on Saturday (7). More than 260 people died in the barbaric attack.

A young Israeli woman and her boyfriend who attended the rave party were kidnapped by terrorists. She was honored by the Israeli government this Thursday (12), the day she turned 26.

Near the festival, cameras in Israeli citizens’ cars recorded moments in which terrorists shot at moving vehicles and beat a man who surrendered.

Al Jazeera reporter Youma El Sayed was surprised by the explosion of a rocket that hit a building in Gaza while participating in a live newscast. The building was later hit again and collapsed.

Israel responded to the attacks with numerous bombings in the Gaza Strip.

The terrorist group attacked at least two kibbutzim, Israeli agricultural communities, on the border with Gaza. In Be’eri, entire buildings were destroyed and more than 100 people died. Hamas members were also killed in the fighting.

To support the offensive, Hamas used commercial drones sold in stores. The equipment flew over the iron walls and dropped explosives on Israeli soldiers in surveillance towers on the border.

Israel responded with airstrikes using much more advanced fighter jets and military drones. In the early hours of Friday (13) more than 750 Hamas targets were attacked.

Israel has a defense system called Iron Dome, a technology that calculates the trajectory of enemy rockets and missiles and also intercepts them with missiles. Despite the advanced antiaircraft shield, several Hamas rockets hit various cities in the country.

Portal journalist Issam Abdallah died this Friday in a bomb attack in southern Lebanon, on Israel’s northern border. He was working with a press team in the area and was hit while livestreaming one of the bombings. Three other journalists were injured.
