China calls for cooperation to ensure security in the Red Sea

China today (December 21, 2023) called on major powers to “cooperate” to “ensure the safety of navigation in the Red Sea,” where there have been attacks on civilian ships.

An Israeli fire leaves one dead in Lebanon

An Israeli attack killed a woman in her 80s in a village in southern Lebanon early Thursday morning, according to Lebanese state media and Lebanese authorities.

“Enemy shelling in the town of Maroun al-Ras killed a woman and injured her husband this morning,” Lebanon’s official National News Agency (NNA) said. Israeli artillery shells hit “residential areas” of the city and hit the couple’s home, the agency added.
