Israeli attack leaves 20 dead in southern Gaza Strip

Another Israeli bombing killed at least 17 civilians, including five children, and injured around 15 others in the town of Khan Yunis.

Dozens of Palestinians died and hundreds were injured in the Gaza Strip on Thursday due to Israeli bombings and aggression at the end of the 83-day siege of the Palestinian territory.

Israeli warplanes attacked the Shaboura refugee camp in the city of Rafah, leaving at least 20 dead and dozens injured, according to Palestinian media.

They also reported the destruction of the Al-Taqwa Mosque, east of the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in northern Gaza City, when it was hit by Israeli bombs.

Amid this day of attacks, Israeli forces attacked a residential neighborhood in the Palestinian town of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.

The airstrike killed at least nine Palestinians, most of whom were women and children.

The attack targeted a house near Al-Amal Hospital, part of the Palestinian Red Crescent, increasing the number of dead and injured in the area.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, the Iraqi siege of the Gaza Strip has claimed more than 21,500 lives and left around 54,000 injured, more than 70 percent of whom were women and children.
