Israeli attack on Palestinian city of Jenin kills 13 and injures dozens (+video)

At the same time as the Israeli Prime Minister announced that his country’s armed forces had ended the invasion of the city of Jenin, the largest operation of the last two decades, The Israeli army shelled the Palestinian town of Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip in response to the launching of explosive devices from the Palestinian enclave.

According to the Al-Mayadeen correspondent, warplanes attacked resistance sites in Gaza after a large number of rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into the occupied Palestinian territories.

According to the source, the attacks occurred in response to the Zionist attack on the refugee camp in the aforementioned West Bank city. The tragedy culminated in the deaths of 13 Palestinians and wounded dozens.

In parallel with the activation of the Iron Dome air defense system to intercept the projectiles, the sirens of the emergency warning system sounded in the settlements of Nir Am and Sderot, while panic reigned among the settlers.

When some media outlets commented on the military withdrawal from Jenin, they acknowledged the strategic failure of the Israeli operation, as it did not bring any changes in terms of deterring resistance actions in the West Bank.

According to some observers, the military commanders decided to stop the attack in order to limit casualties and prevent further escalation.

Meanwhile, the Al-Quds Forces celebrated their victory over the invading forces on Wednesday.

While United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed his deep concern over the unfolding situation in Jenin in the occupied West Bank, where Israeli airstrikes have affected the densely populated refugee camp.

The raid was followed by another operation at the camp on June 19, killing four Palestinians and wounding 91 others.

On the other hand, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported on Tuesday that ten Palestinians, including three children, died as a result of air and ground operations in the West Bank city, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
