The defense authorities of Israel announced today the execution of another leader of the Palestinian group Hamas. According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), A’sar was in charge of all Hamas antitank missile units in the region and under his command several attacks were carried out against Israeli civilians and soldiers. So far, the Israeli army has announced the deaths of 11 Hamas leaders. Among them are Zachariah Abu Ma’amar, head of the internal relations office, responsible for the group’s decisionmaking and planning of the attacks; Joad Abu Shmalah, who worked in resource management and led a series of attacks against Israel; and Jamila alShant, widow of the group’s leader and cofounder, Abdel Aziz alRantisi.

The most recent execution took place on October 26, when the Israeli army killed Shadi Barud, considered “number 2” in Hamas intelligence. Barud was seen by Israel as the mastermind of the October 7 surprise attack against the Jewish state.
