247 Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced this Tuesday (10) that the country would carry out extensive military operations in the Gaza Strip in order to bring about a complete change in the situation. He sharply criticized Hamas fighters, calling them “human animals.” At a meeting with Israeli military and elite troops near the Gaza border, Gallant said: “I have lifted all restrictions, we have regained control of the area and are heading towards a fullscale offensive.”
“We cannot allow Israeli children to be killed in the camp while Hamas remains active. “I have lifted all restrictions: anyone who opposes us will be neutralized by any means necessary,” Gallant affirmed, according to information from the EFE agency.
The number of victims of the recent attacks is worrying. In a surprise attack by Hamas last Saturday, more than 900 people were killed and 2,400 injured, with around 500 in serious condition.
According to local authorities, Israeli air strikes in retaliation resulted in the deaths of 830 Gazans, including many civilians. The Israeli army says about 1,500 Hamas militants were killed in the attacks or in subsequent fighting on Israeli territory.
