Given the increase in cases of antiSemitism in various parts of the world, Israel’s National Security Council has increased the threat level for Israeli citizens in 80 countries.
For Brazil, the threat level rose from one to two, with greater precautions recommended.
In countries in Africa such as South Africa and Eritrea, as well as in Central Asia such as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan, the level was raised to three, with a recommendation to reconsider nonessential travel.
The Security Council also issued a number of recommendations for Israeli citizens abroad. Are they:
1. Postpone travel to countries for which travel warnings have been issued, particularly Arab and Middle Eastern countries, the North Caucasus, countries bordering Iran and Muslim countries in Asia.
2. Check whether there have been antiIsrael protests and violence at your destination, including in countries that have not issued travel warnings.
3. Stay away from demonstrations and protests.
4. Stay alert while abroad and pay attention to events around you.
5. Avoid openly displaying your Israeli and Jewish identity and all relevant symbols and stay away from Israeli and Jewish gatherings.
6. Find out in advance the telephone numbers of the emergency services in the destination country and, if applicable, the Israeli mission.
