The Israeli army targets the pro-Iranian terrorist organization in southern Lebanon after mutual attacks: “We are ready to attack”. Defense Minister Joav Gallant has already spoken of a war on multiple fronts.
Benny Gantz is by no means a hawk or a man of big words – and he is not someone who needs theatrical thunder as a means of self-promotion. But when the former defense minister and former chief of the Israeli General Staff, who joined the war cabinet as leader of the opposition almost three months ago, issues a warning, it must be taken very seriously. Not just because Gantz would clearly beat Benjamin Netanyahu in new elections.
“I say to our friends in the world: the situation on the northern border must change. Time for a diplomatic solution is running out,” said Gantz. “If the world and the Lebanese government do not stop shooting at communities in northern Israel and expel Hezbollah from the border region, the Israeli army will do so.”
