The Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie (GDPL) invites the people of Quebec to get active on the weekend of October 14th as part of La Grande Marche, which runs from Friday to Sunday.

This free event is organized in collaboration with the Federation of General Practitioners of Quebec (FMOQ) and is open to anyone who wants to engage in physical activity. She supports the movement to promote healthy lifestyle habits, which was launched by the GDPL 15 years ago. Last year, 107,241 people took part in La Grande Marche, a number that Pierre Lavoie aims to match or even exceed.

“This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Grand Défi and we couldn’t be happier with how far we’ve come. We originally had an ambitious project to make Quebec a healthier society. Three festive gatherings

A total of 106 municipalities in the country will offer their own 5 km course on their respective streets. During the three days of the event, people can also take part virtually from home on foot at a time of their choosing. However, residents of Saguenay, Quebec and Montreal can take part in one of the three festive gatherings organized by the Grand Défi, including a 5 km walking trail open to all and games to entertain the children.
