The 19-year-old Curacao native has been making waves since his NCAA debut with the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
In five innings since the start of the season, the Phenomenon has not conceded runs in five innings of work, beating eight batsmen in the process.
Where the rookie shines is that he can consistently throw 95+ mph from the right and then decide to face a left-hander with 90+ mph fastballs from the left.
Cijntje has been on everyone’s lips for quite some time. The Milwaukee Brewers also took the risk of picking him in the 18th round of the recent draft. He’ll be drafted again in 2025. Until then, he still has the opportunity to increase his value in the eyes of recruiters.
