Sinitta has revealed she “freaked out” from a fake joke that her ex-boyfriend Simon Cowell had died.
The singer, 59, took to Instagram on Monday to admit she was “really scared” of the fake news after her friends were scammed and started texting her.
She wrote: “There is a horrific prank that @SimonCowell has died. It freaked me out last night when people started texting me! Simon is NOT a dead human.

‘Very alive and well. Thank God I have a good sense of whether he’s ours [sic] but you really scared me #NOTFUNNy #notfunny.’
Just months ago, Sinitta slammed Celebs Go Dating for her “disgraceful edit,” in which she declared she’s “still in love” with her 20-year-old on-off ex-boyfriend, Simon.
Sinitta met the now 63-year-old music boss when he was just 14 and later became the first signing to his record label – and she has previously admitted that she loves him “with all my heart”.
She took to Twitter to complain about her upset after watching last week’s episode of the E4 reality dating show.

“Disgraceful editing!” she wrote to her 132,000 followers. “To say I was still ‘in love’ with @SimonCowell was a huge detriment to me and my efforts.
‘Why did you do that? Love and “in love” are very different @CelebsGoDating @awilliamsonTV @PaulCBrunson #iTrustedYou.’
Last year, Sinitta spoke exclusively to Web about her relationship with Simon Cowell over the years, admitting she was heartbroken when he “broke her secret pact” by dating her “best friend” Lauren Silverman in 2013.
She believed that the pair would reignite their romance around the same time.

The singer famously dated the music mogul in the ’80s when she was signed to his Fanfare Records label, but has now confessed that up until the early 2010s she “still wanted to be with him” and “really thought they would work things out”.
Speaking exclusively to Web at Metro’s 50 Years of Pride celebration, sponsored by Visit Malta, in London, she added that she’s accepted that it’s “unrequited love” and is now keen to share hers to celebrate her forthcoming marriage in her capacity as an ordained minister.
She further claimed she had been close friends with Simon’s fiancé since their children Magdelena and Zac, both 17, from a previous marriage to Andrew Silverman, “played” with the socialite’s son Adam, now 16.

Speaking of her hopes for a future with Simon, the TV personality said: “That was about 10 years ago and yes I still wanted to be with him then, yes. So that was annoying and…unrequited love, but I’m not going to kill myself because of it.
“It was kind of on and off, on and off, so there was kind of an unspoken understanding that was obviously a misunderstanding on my part, but it’s okay.
“I’m not the villain because I really thought we were going to work things out and that’s why it was annoying, but that’s life, isn’t it? Maybe I’ll meet someone at their wedding.”
The X Factor creator met Lauren when she was married to multimillionaire real estate developer Andrew.

Slammed: Sinitta wasn’t very pleased when she took to Twitter
Their affair famously went public and Simon’s life changed in late July 2013 when news of Lauren’s pregnancy with their son Eric broke.
Back in 2009, Sinitta spoke to Web again and revealed details about her previous marriage to Andy Willner.
After their split for almost two years at the time, she said she thought about Andy “a lot”.
“Every day I remember more and more great things about my husband. As you heal, you think, “Why did we break up? Why did I even leave you?”

‘I still love him. he still loves me He wasn’t the wrong person – it’s just that our lives are going in different directions now. I regret not being with him,’ she added, crying.
She went on to describe Simon as her “escape” – and she his – as they relaxed alongside his wife Tina on billionaire Sir Philip Green’s yacht.
“I could sit on a boat with Simon for two weeks and just relax. We escape together. That’s how it is with us. I’m his escape, I’d say, and he’s mine. On the boat I could think, ‘Okay, when my babies come back, we’ll start a new life’.
“I love him with all my heart,” she says. “When we’re together, he’s a very important person in my life. But he wants to be single.
“He wants to see who he wants to see, when he wants to see her. I am a very monogamous woman. I need someone who will put me first all the time.’
She added that her relationship with Simon is an “incredible, undefinable friendship.”
“I like the familiarity, the security, and I really trust him. So many people would love us to get back together and I can understand why. I even said to him, “Why not us?”
“But I think our lives have become so complicated now. I have the kids and he has this crazy career.”
