“It began to penetrate through the walls and floor. The water began to rise. And luckily we were there. We were able to remove the water…all with the shop vac and mops,” explained Claudia in an interview with TVA Nouvelles.
Almost 100 millimeters of rain fell in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu on Friday.
“There was so much water that my pool completely filled up. I had to empty it. On the fifth my land was flooded. It was “crazy”, says Claudia.
Located in an area normally protected from flooding, Jean-Pierre was also affected by the heavy rains.
The latter indicates that his house was flooded very quickly.
“In a relatively short time, an hour at most, it was already a few centimeters, and when it stopped, it was only a good twelve centimeters,” says the resident of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.
