At the summer festival there are so-called waterproof shows. They stage artists who are so popular that they get audiences walking, even when it’s raining heavily and can have a drink standing up. Bryan Adams’ visit to FEQ on July 13, 2014 falls into this category.
It was heavy and gray on the final night of FEQ 2014. From end to end, an increasingly heavy downpour tested the endurance of the Canadian rocker and his admirers, who filled the plains with Abraham.
But that night Mother Nature had to give in. “Run To You, Somebody, (Everything I Do) I Do It For You, Heaven”: For two hours, the charismatic Adams let his hits sparkle in front of an audience that never tired of singing along.
“At 54, our colleague Sandra Godin reported, he delivered a flawless performance, with the energy of a young premier but a solid experience, and gave the festival one of the finest evenings of its 47th edition.”
The rocker himself was amazed. “They’re the best audience in Canada,” he even said.
words in the air? That no! Three years later he had added in an interview with Le Journal. “Since I’ve played in Canada, I’ve never seen such an enthusiastic audience of this size. If there’s a concert that couldn’t have been better, it’s this one.
Tens of thousands of festival-goers who attended the Plains on July 13, 2014 no doubt shared his sentiment.
