According to his arrest report, an undercover agent for the City of Miami Police Department saw Santana standing on a sidewalk arguing with Trump supporters just before police closed the intersection of Northwest First and Third Avenues to allow the former president to exit the street.
After police officers drove by on motorcycles, Santana ran into the middle of the street with his sign and blocked the motorcade, causing one of the SUVs to swerve to avoid hitting him, the report said.
“I was running from the mob that was beating me, just dodging for safety, and suddenly there was the motorcade and there was my shield, and then I got shot down,” Santana said.
