Fans of rapper Shaggy were outraged after the Jamaican-American star canceled his performance at Brisbane's Jammin Festival on Saturday night.
Attendees had paid over $200 to see Shaggy perform his greatest hits on the Riverstage that evening before it was announced that Shaggy, the evening's headliner, would not be performing.
Since the curfew was at 10 p.m., the penultimate act took the stage at 9:20 p.m., leaving no time for the headliner. Concert management announced to the angry audience that Shaggy's performance was canceled because they were “running out of time” amid boos.
Many expressed their anger online, and several disappointed fans shared their thoughts on Reddit.
“Is there anyone else at Jammin Festival tonight? River stage. Shaggy was headlining, but they seemed very slow at changing stages between performances. The penultimate act arrived over an hour late. “I complained that her performance was canceled and then the MC announced that the church was over the time limit so Shaggy wouldn't play,” one fan asked.

“My mate was out all day yesterday and was waiting for Shaggy to come over last night.” Lots of very angry people. Have we heard the official excuse for Shaggy not showing up yet? “Some say he wasn’t even in Brisbane,” one person commented.
“Complete rip off – I can't blame the venue – blame the organizers – should have known when they charged the VIP cost for GA tickets and all Ticketmaster said if the organizers reserved the right , changing costs based on demand – and then no Shaggy,” wrote another.
“To know the truth, it's confusing but a lot of disappointed concert goers,” said another.
“If Shaggy was announced as the headliner and didn't play, you should ask for a refund,” another chimed in.

“RnB/Hip Hop promoters are some of the worst in the country and couldn’t put on a good event if their lives depended on it,” another complained.
Shaggy, 55, has been busy performing around the world since he exploded onto the music scene in 2000 with the hit It Wasn't Me.
He looked back on his 30-year career and called it a “blessing” to still be doing what he loves.
“Look, if you could have a career like mine, then you’ve made it for me,” Shaggy said.
“To still be doing this over 30 years is a force to be reckoned with, and it’s a blessing to still be relevant in gaming, especially in my genre.”
