Ñemby Paraguay Félix Cárdenas, a devoted 72yearold father, recently went viral after his daughter shared a photo of him waiting for her at a bus stop at night. Aware of the dangers women face walking the streets alone at night, Don Félix makes a point of accompanying her to ensure her safety and to make her feel protected.
- Belén, 22, posted the photo and an emotional text on social media, expressing her admiration for her father. She wrote: “Whether it’s raining or the sun is shining, my father is always waiting for me at the bus stop so I don’t feel helpless or alone. Dad, I love you so much!”
In an interview with the Extra Paraguay portal, Belén said that her father maintained this routine for three years, first picking her up from work and now waiting for her at the bus stop, whether by car, sometimes by bus or on foot.
She remembered the first few days he looked for her at work and how he got used to the idea that she had to learn to let go and walk alone but always have a presence on the charts.
Belén emphasized the great joy she feels when she gets off the bus to find her father waiting for her and she immediately feels safer.
