ROME, January 22 (DPA/EP) –
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani announced on Saturday that France and Italy intend to supply Ukraine with Samp/T air defense systems.
“We are in the process of finalizing the delivery of the Samp/T in collaboration with France,” Tajani told Il Corriere della Sera newspaper.
The Samp/T anti-aircraft system is a joint Franco-Italian project that began development in the early 2000s and is considered a flexible and effective anti-aircraft and missile defense system.
Tajani also referred to “other measures that we are working on in secret” that would soon be added to the five Italian aid packages totaling around 1,000 million euros, he stressed.
