After the Senate film studios? Former Italian film star Gina Lollobrigida has announced her candidacy in the country’s upcoming Senate elections. The 95-year-old actress, who has notably starred in Fanfan la Tulipe or Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, is a candidate for left-wing parties in the Latina constituency, 70 km south of Rome.
As she confided to the Corriere della Sera, one of the most important Italian daily newspapers, on August 14, 2022, you ” [se battra] to decide for the people, from health to justice. Italy is bad, I want to do something good and positive.”. She added to have “I’ve had enough of the politicians’ struggles”.
The actress had already presented herself at the European elections
Gina Lollobrigida said she was worried about her country’s future while Italy was going through a major political crisis. In September there is a general election (where MPs and Senators are appointed), with the extreme right being the favourite.
