Italy examines plan to promote the production of electric cars

Rome, January 3 (Prensa Latina) The Italian Economy Ministry is examining an incentive plan worth around 930 million euros to promote the production of electric vehicles in that country and modernize the vehicle fleet, a report said today.

According to a statement from this organization published this Wednesday on the digital website of the publication Veritá & Affari, the head of this ministry, Adolfo Urso, announced that for such purposes, bounties are estimated between six thousand and 13,750. Euro.

The aid for the purchase of hybrid cars will be between four thousand and ten thousand euros, while the amounts for the purchase of low-emission vehicles will, according to this project, be between 1,500 and three thousand euros, especially those manufactured in this country will be preferred.

Commercial vehicles, taxis and long-term rentals will also benefit from this initiative, which will be officially presented on February 1 at a meeting with representatives of the sector's manufacturing companies as well as the supply chain at the headquarters of the said ministry.

Urso specified in statements published by this news agency that one of the objectives of this proposal is to produce a million cars in Italy, compared to the just over 400,000 currently produced.

In addition, the modernization of vehicles in circulation in this country, where almost eleven million cars date from before 2006, will be expanded, so that low-income buyers with an income of less than 30,000 euros will be supported by incentives up to 13,750 euros, in order replace their old vehicles.
