A revelation

When Oprah Winfrey taped “The State of Weight” panel for her series “Life You Want” last July, she had an epiphany.

“I realized that I had been blaming myself for being overweight for years and that I have a disposition that no amount of willpower can control,” she explained.

The host then went to her doctor, who prescribed her a weight-loss medication, which she did not elaborate on to People.

Oprah Winfrey also insists she didn't just use medication. “I know everyone thought I would take it, but I worked really hard. I know that if I don't practice or pay attention to other things, it won't work for me.

After undergoing knee surgery in 2021 that helped her get back into shape, Oprah Winfrey admitted to People that she was pleased with her progress. “This is a second chance for me to live a more vital and vibrant life.”
