It’s over for two key television journalists from Radio-Canada – World of Stars

One page of the story turns to RDI. The journalist and news presenter Geneviève Asselin announced her resignation in the middle of the news program.

It must be said that she has worked for Radio-Canada for more than 38 years and was involved in the early days of RDI, Radio-Canada’s continuous news station.

Remember that it was she who moderated the first RDI Bulletin.

“It’s an adventure that began for me at Radio-Canada 38 years ago. And yes I’m retiring, I’ve tanked before in Vancouver, Ottawa, Montreal and elsewhere, full of really wonderful moments, especially the very first RDI bulletin on January 1st 1995 was impressive. And it makes me very funny to see these pictures of me when I was very young, so long ago. In any case, it was a turning point because it opened the door to animation for me. So it’s been a privilege to be on the front lines of the news with you, to be able to quiz the actors, it’s been a pleasure to carve out THE relevant fact, find the right words to say and explain, and it’s been an honor to pass it on to The Luft is the result of the work of all of us, here, with colleagues from everywhere, thanks to our public broadcaster, in which I believe deeply. All this to bring you the essential information, so a big thank you from the bottom of my heart to you, dear viewers, to you, dear colleagues,” she announced.

She’s not the only one announcing her retirement. His colleague Martine Defoy is also leaving Radio Canada for the same reasons as the public broadcaster announced on social networks.

We wish you a happy retirement!
