The medley, which also serves as the first excerpt from an album to be released in 2024, contains the songs Je sais pas, Pour que tu m'aime encore and Vole.
“If someone had told me back then that I would sing this medley, I would never have believed it. “The little girl I was would be hallucinating,” says the 33-year-old singer, cellist and actress, who we discovered in 2015 in “The Voice: The Most Beautiful Voice”.
“I’m not exaggerating,” adds Anne Sila. Céline was my school. I was a very, very big fan. I started singing when I was about 12 years old. Every night I came home from school and got my parents drunk by singing Celine Dion [rires]! I tried to learn all the tones of his voice. […] She has incredible technique and humility…”
The artist has also performed Celine Dion songs several times throughout his career.
Three unmissable successes
How were the three pieces in the medley between the songs J'irai où tu iras, My Heart Will Go On, All By Myself and many others that can be heard in symphonic version during the Céline Symphonique show?
“The choice was difficult for us,” reveals Anne Sila. It was impossible for you to still love me. Vole is one of Vincent's favorite songs. I don't know, it's really nice with the orchestra. The great thing is that you can revisit Céline Dion's repertoire without trying to emulate her, as we will never be able to reach her level.
The French singer Vincent Niclo, who accompanies her in this medley and on stage, is also a fan of Céline Dion. “We felt the same pressure,” she admits. If this project was to happen, we had to work on it at the level that Céline deserves.”
Celebrate Celine
As the Céline Symphonique show approaches, the singer doesn't hide her excitement.
“It's really a show in honor of Celine Dion! We'll all sing together, it'll be a huge karaoke. Even in rehearsal we can’t help but sing!” says the artist with a laugh.
On stage, 47 musicians of the Quebec Philharmonic Orchestra, led by conductor Alexandre Da Costa and six soloists – Anne Sila, Vincent Niclo, Jennifer Lee-Dupuis, Josiane Comeau, Measha Brueggergosman-Lee and Barnev Valsaint – will bring the great songs of Céline Bringing Dion to life.
After the performances in Montreal, France can discover the Céline Symphonique show at the Seine Musicale in Paris in February and March.
