The American singer Mariah Carey officially opened the Christmas season on Wednesday morning, publishing on her social networks a new original video expressing her hit song All I want for Christmas is you.
In this video, which begins with the opening of a safe, we see five Halloween characters trying to thaw a giant block of ice containing the Diva.
Then his whistling voice says: It’s… time! and breaks the ice. At the same time, the first notes of his hymn All I Want For Christmas Is You sound.
The singer, dressed in a Mother Christmas outfit, is then accompanied by dancers and her twins, where gifts, Christmas trees and snow adorn the decorations.
Lined with vinyl records
The video was released at midnight on Tuesday and Wednesday night and has been viewed by more than 35.5 million people on X at the time of writing.
The track “All I Want For Christmas Is You” was written in just 15 minutes in June 1994. Since then, it has exploded in the statistics, catapulting Mariah Carey to the top of the most listened to artists at the end of every year. The song has been played over a billion times on YouTube. A trend that is confirmed by the figures communicated by the Spotify platform with almost 1.5 billion listeners.
Mariah Carey will stop at the Bell Center on November 29th with her “Merry Christmas One and All” tour.
