Ivana took to social media this Sunday to show off the official inaugural dress for the Miss Universe pageant to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.
According to the publication, the suit is from the brand Portia & Scarlett.
Quezalteca was among the top ten candidates worldwide selected to compete at Miss Universe, said Oscar Flores, Miss Universe national director for Guatemala.
Due to the pandemic, the election of the representative of Guatemala was carried out in a casting at the end of May 2022. The difference from the traditional public competition is that the casting takes place behind closed doors.
The jury consisted of around 12 people, including experts, sponsors and former beauty queens chosen by the organization, Flores said.
Ivana Batchelor was crowned on June 3, 2022 and since then her preparation began.
Though the Guatemalan had prior experience attending beauty events, it was key to winning the national competition, Flores said. In 2o2o she took part in the Miss Grand International in Thailand, where she came second.
And in the same competition, he won first place for the best national costume, designed by the same designer who designed the costume that Ivana will wear in the preliminary competition this Thursday.

“We’re very fortunate because Ivana has had a lot of support from the media and fans,” said Miss Universe national director for Guatemala, who has the franchise in the country.
This Saturday, January 7th, the Guatemalan took part in an activity with the Smile Train organization in New Orleans, with which Batchelor had previously collaborated in our country.
This is an organization that performs surgeries on underprivileged children with cleft palate and cleft lip.
