“I’ve had enough”

Jim Carrey says he’s “pretty serious” about retiring from acting, declaring he’s “done enough” in a new Access Hollywood interview.

Carrey was on the show to promote Sonic the Hedgehog 2 when he was asked to respond to recent comments from Dolly Parton, in which the country music superstar said she would like Carrey to have her former music partner Porter Wagoner in one Parton biopic plays.

The news surprised Carrey. “Well that’s a nice thing,” he said, “but I’m retiring.” When asked if he was serious, Carrey said, “I’m pretty serious, yeah.” He said he might change his mind about retirement: “If the angels bring me some kind of script, that in gold ink.” is written and tells me it’s going to be really important for people to see, maybe I’ll continue, but I’m taking a break.”

Carrey, who dedicates much of his time to painting and making art, said: “I really like my quiet life and I really like painting color on canvas and I really love my spiritual life and I feel like and that’s something you do.” maybe never will hear another celebrity say while there’s time I’ve had enough. I’ve done enough I am enough.”

Carrey also spoke about his late friend Bob Saget and the recent celebrity-filled memorial service for the beloved Full House star. “It was a very nice night,” Carrey said. “I’m not sure why everything has to become a Netflix special. I find that a bit strange.”

Producer Mike Binder recently said that the recorded memorial service has been sold to Netflix for an upcoming special.
